| Q. What's new with AirVue Golf V2? A. We've listened and are excited to offer our first major update to AirVue Golf since launching the application earlier this year. We've cleaned up the look and made it easier to get all the relevant information quickly. We've added detailed score tracking. Keep track of putts, fairway hits and more. We've also added the ability to graph your results. Take a look at the new screenshots of the new look and the new scorecard functionality! Q. How much does it cost to upgrade to AirVue Golf V2? Q. If I don't have AirVue Golf, how much does it cost to buy AirVue Golf v2? |
Frequently Asked Questions on Using AirVue Golf v2
| Q. Can I view the scorecard while playing a round? A. Yes. Unfortunately after release we found that some iPhones and iPod touch devices sometimes don't display a scorecard icon when in score enter screen. You can still click on the location where the scorecard icon should appear to show the scorecard. Just press to the left of the "GPS" icon and you'll see the scorecard. Q. Can I delete scorecards? A. Yes. When in scorecard screen, identify the scorecard to delete and then gently slide your finger from left to right on the scorecard to delete. A "delete" button will appear, allowing you to delete that selected scorecard. |
iPhone 3Gs and V3 support
| Q. Does AirVue Golf support the new iPhone 3Gs? A. Yes. Q. Does AirVue Golf support the new v3 iPhone software. A. Yes, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs Smartphones are both supported with v3 software. Q. Do I need to do anything unique prior to upgrading from iPhone v2 to v3 software? A.
No. Nothing unique is required to upgrade your iPhone 3G from v2 to v3
software. We always recommend backing up all your iPhone applications,
music and videos to your PC or Mac.
Q. Do I need to do anything unique if I'm upgrading from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3Gs? A. Yes. We recommend you backup your iPhone 3G to your PC or Mac prior to upgrading to iPhone 3Gs. After you receive your iPhone 3Gs, sync your new iPhone 3Gs with iTunes and your AirVue Golf will be installed and ready for your use on your iPhone 3Gs.
Q. I upgraded to V3 and now AirVue Golf does not seem to be getting GPS information. A.
Apple recommends that AirVue Golf be deleted and reinstalled. This
is an issue with v3 upgrade process and if you encounter an error with
AirVue Golf not working properly after upgrade or GPS information does
not display, please delete the application and reload the app. If that doesn't work, please contact AirVue Golf support. |
Available Courses
| Q. Can I check if my course is available today? A. Yes. You may use our online tool to check if your course has been processed with detailed hole-by-hole information. Click here to get started. Q. The course database search tool says my course is not processable. What does that mean? A. We use satellite imagery from Google. Unfortunately, some images from Google are blurry, may not be high enough resolution or are simply outdated. In those situations, Locaxion is not able to process that course and make it available for use with AirVue Golf. Please do let us know if that course is of interest to you and we'll do what we can to obtain newer or better quality satellite imagery. Q. The course database search tool says my course is being processed. I'm going golfing tomorrow (or soon), can I get that course processed for my game? A. Yes. Please contact us as soon as possible via email at course@locaxion.com, or via phone and we'll prioritize that course to process it prior to your tee time. Q. The course database search tool says my course has not been processed. How do I get detailed hole-by-hole information processed for that course? A. Please submit a request via our course request form. Do let us know when you need that course so we can prioritize that course accordingly. Please note, if Google satellite imagery is blurry or out-dated we, unfortunately, may not be able to process that course for you. We'll let you know as soon as possible if that course it not processable. You may also check via our course database search tool, by clicking on course name to open Google's satellite imagery for that course. If the image is clear and current, we can process that course for you. |

Q. How can I get support on AirVue Golf? A. Please email us at support@locaxion.com with your support question. Please be as specific as possible. Provide course name, date and time and summary of problem via email. Q. How can I make a course request? A. If you cannot send a request via your iPhone 3G using AirVue Golf, please send us an email at course@locaxion.com or use the form located in the course request form page. Please provide us the course name, address, city and state information. Additionally, please let us know if you intend to golf at the course within 48 hours. We typically process all hole-by-hole information course requests within 7 business days and prioritize course requests based on this information. Q. Who can I contact to learn more about purchasing AirVue Golf? A. Sales information can be found at www.airvuegolf.com/sales. You may also contact us at sales@locaxion.com for additional information on AirVue Golf. Q. How do I make a feature request? A. We are excited to hear about features that are important to you. Please send us any suggestions via email at features@locaxion.com. We can't promise that all feature requests will make it into our release, but do value each and every suggestion. |
Installation FAQs

Q. Do I need to reboot / restart my phone after installing AirVue Golf? A. Restarting your phone is not necessary. If AirVue Golf quits unexpectedly, restarting your phone may help. Q. I accidentally deleted AirVue Golf from my iTunes and iPhone 3G. How can I recover the application? A. Visit http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 to learn about how you can download AirVue Golf again onto your iPhone and/or iTunes. Q. How can I extend battery life? A. Locaxion has numerous suggestions on extending battery life while at the course. Click here to learn more. Q. Does AirVue Golf have a built-in help file? A. Yes. Before going to a satellite view, click on the "?" icon located at the top right corner of the AirVue Golf screen. This will load a help file to provide you with basic information on using AirVue Golf. Q. Is there a user's manual for using AirVue Golf? A. Yes. You can download a user's manual by going to the User Documentation page. The Tips and Tricks Guide provides golfers with detailed information on getting the most out of AirVue Golf. |
Satellite Image and Course Data FAQs
Q. I get a "Course data coming soon" message when I select my course on the iPhone. Do I need to do anything to request that course? A. Please contact us at course@locaxion.com and let us know the course name. We're working on getting that course data into our database. If you need to use that course, please let us know and we'll prioritize processing for that course. Q. How can I learn if my course is currently available with detailed hole-by-hole information? A. Yes. Click here to open our course search tool to search our database of courses. The course search tool will let you search for your course by name, city, state or zip code and let you know if the course is currently available, in process, not yet processed or not processable. Q. Can I get notified when my course has hole-by-hole information? A. Yes. If you send us a request via email at course@locaxion.com, or via our online form, we can inform you when your course is available. Q. I am golfing in the next few days, can I get my course processed quickly? A.Yes. We are happy to process us courses in time for your game.For urgent requests, we recommend you send us an email at course@locaxion.com or use our course request form and let us know when you'll be golfing and we'll make all effort to complete the course in time for your game. Q. I just loaded my golf course, but the image does not look
right or looks old. How do I get the image updated? A. We work closely with our map provider to ensure we have
the newest satellite image for your use. If you encounter a map that appears
outdated and shows your course under construction or possibly no course, please
let us know at course@locaxion.com
with the name and address of the course. Q. Is there a way for me to tell if my golf course image on AirVue Golf will look blurry? A. Yes. Please go to maps.google.com and enter the course name or course address. AirVue Golf currently uses Google Maps for course satellite image. Unfortunately, if the Google Maps image is blurry or of low resolution, that course will not get processed with hole-by-hole information for use with AirVue Golf. Please do let us know via email at course@locaxion.com, as we constantly share feedback with Google. Q. The image of my golf course looks very blurry. Is there a
way to improve the quality of the image? A. No. Unfortunately we receive satellite images from a 3rd
party company. If the satellite image of the course looks blurry, please let us
know by sending an email to course@locaxion.com
with the name and address of the course. Q. I just loaded my course and I don’t see hole-by-hole
information for that course. How do I get hole-by-hole information for my
course? A. When you select the course, you’ll see a screen that says
Request Course. Once you Request Course, in most cases, we can create
hole-by-hole information for you, typically, within 48 hours for urgent requests and usually in 7 days for normal requests. If you know you’ll be golfing
at a specific course, please let us know two days before you’ll be going and
your course will be ready for you. Q. I can’t find my course on AirVue Golf. How can I add my
course? A. If you’re unable to find your course, you may try to enter
a shorter name for the course and search again. Or if the course name recently
changed, please try the previous name of the course. Please email us at course@locaxion.com with the name and
address of the course and we’ll rapidly update our database with the new
information. Q. My course has some incorrect information (address, phone,
hole sequence, par data, green center location). Can it be corrected? A. Yes. Please send us the name and address of the course
that has incorrect information plus a description of the error via email to course@locaxion.com. Q. If my course does not have hole-by-hole information, can I
create hole-by-hole information myself? A. No. At this time you may request a course be added. Once
a request is made we put that course at the top of the queue and can make
hole-by-hole information available, typically in less than 2 days for urgent requests and usually within 7 days for normal processing. Q. Can I find nearby courses without having to type the
course name? A. Yes. In the search text box, just press “space” and then
select Search to find all nearby courses.
Scorecard FAQs

Q. How do I get to the scorcard? A. In any satellite view, simply click on the scorecard icon, located at the bottom. Q. Does AirVue Golf have a built-in scorecard? A. Yes. AirVue Golf has a built-in scorecard. While in any
satellite image, just rotate your iPhone clockwise or counter clockwise and a
scorecard will appear. In order to properly use the scorecard, please make sure you are not in motion while rotating the phone to enter or exit the scorecard. Q. Can I reset my scorecard? A. Yes. Once you select a course from the list of courses, the scorecard is automatically reset for you. |
Using AirVue Golf on the Course FAQs
Q. Does AirVue Golf automatically switch to my next hole
while I’m playing? A. Yes. AirVue Golf senses your current hole and
automatically loads information for that hole. AirVue Golf senses current hole
at the tee. If you turn your phone on at the tee, AirVue Golf will
automatically switch to the current hole. Q. How do I get the most accurate GPS readings? A. For best accuracy, we recommend the application is turned
on for about 15 seconds before getting a distance reading, AirVue Golf and
iPhone take about 15 seconds to lock onto GPS signals to get the most accurate
distance readings. Q. Can I move or zoom map images if hole-by-hole information
exists? A. Yes. Whether in
green, fairway or hole view, you can move satellite images or zoom in and out
of satellite images to get to your most desired view. To move satellite image,
touch the touchscreen and keep your finger still for 1 second. And then after
the crosshair disappears, you can move the image in any desired direction. To
zoom in or out of the satellite image, touch the screen with two fingers and
slide the fingers diagonally in or out to zoom in and out. Q. Can I measure distance to locations on the course that do
not have a marker? A. Yes. You can use the built-in interactive rangefinder
capability to measure distance to anywhere on the course. In any satellite
view, touch the screen and then slide your finger on the screen to move the
crosshair. The distance displayed under the crosshair is the distance from
current location to the location under the crosshair. Q. Can I use the interactive rangefinder to measure distance
from my lay up point to the green? A. Yes. As you slide your finger on the screen, the
interactive rangefinder shows the distance from current location to the
crosshair. The distance shown on the front, center and back of the green
markers are the distance from the crosshair to the green. Q. How do I use the distance measurement tool? A. When viewing the course in any satellite view, click on the icon at bottom left of the screen from where you hit the ball. Now walk or drive to the ball and upon arriving at the ball, look at the iPhone screen and the ball distance is now displayed.
Support Requirements FAQs
Q. Does AirVue Golf run on BlackBerry Smartphones? A. No. At this time, AirVue Golf runs on the iPhone 3G, 3Gs, and iPod touch.
We are looking at adding platforms in the near future. Please contact us to get added on the email list for Blackberry support. Q. Does AirVue Golf run on iPhone (1st
generation)? A. Yes. AirVue Golf requires iPhone v3 software. 1st generation iPhones will function similar to an iPod touch product. Q. Does AirVue Golf run on any iPod devices, such as the iPod touch? A. Yes. AirVue Golf will run on the 2nd generation iPod touch. No other iPod products are supported. Q. Does AirVue Golf run on a Windows Mobile based phone? A. No. AirVue Golf is currently supported on the iPhone 3G and 3Gs.
We are looking at adding new platforms in the near future. Please contact us to get added on the email list for Windows Mobile support. Q. Does AirVue Golf work outside the US? A. No. At this time AirVue Golf’s database is US only. We’re
looking at expanding our support in the near future. Please contact us to
