FAQ | Contact Support | Tips on Improving Battery Life | User Manual

Here are some tips to get the most out of your battery.

  1. Start with a full charge prior to playing golf. A less than fully charged battery may not last long enough to play the entire round of golf.

  2. Fetch new data less frequently. The built-in email program regularly fetches email at specific intervals. Disable fetching or increase fetch interval time to extend battery life. Go to Settings > Fetch New Data and select Manual to manually fetch new data, or select a longer time interval to extend fetch interval.

  3. Disable push mail. Some email accounts, such as MobileMe, Exchange and other accounts, regularly receive email as they arrive. Disable push mail during your play to minimize the amount of time and battery your iPhone uses to receive emails. Go to Settings > Fetch New Data and set Push to Off.

  4. Disable Wi-Fi. Turn off Wi-Fi to extend battery life. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and set Wi-Fi to Off to disable Wi-Fi during your play.

  5. Disble Bluetooth. If you are not planning to use your Bluetooth headset during the game, turn off Bluetooth to extend battery life. Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and set Bluetooth to Off.

  6. Dim Screen. Dim the screen to minimum readable brightness to extend battery life. Go to Setings > Brightness and adjust brightness down.

  7. Keep iPhone out of direct sun. Keep your iPhone out of direct sun or a glove box. High temperatures will lower battery life.

  8. Keep Auto-Lock settings to minimum time. When information from your iPhone is not needed, keep the sleep mode to extend battery life. Keeping auto-lock settings to 1 minute will keep the iPhone in sleep mode until needed. Note, we recommend coming out of sleep mode about 15 seconds prior to needing GPS information to give your iPhone enough time to lock onto GPS signals. Go to Settings > General > Auto-Lock and set Auto-Lock to 5 minutes or less.

  9. Avoid listening to music. Listening to music on the iPhone will increase battery consumption. Minimize amount of time listening to music or watching videos on the iPhone during your golf game to get the most out of your battery.
